Therapy with intense pulsed light breaks the cycle of inflammation to the meibomian glands, allowing better production of an essential component in a healthy tear film.

The meibomian glands produce the protective oil layer of your tears, which keeps them from evaporating too quickly. When those glands are blocked or dysfunctional the result can be burning, irritation, fluctuating vision and redness.
Bipolar radiofrequency delivers gentle, precisely controlled heat to the eyelids to liquify and release the hardened oils inside the meibomian glands allowing for optimal flow. Comfortable, safe.
As we age, the muscles supporting the lower eyelids naturally weaken, which can lead to lower eyelid laxity, incomplete blinking and symptoms of dry eye disease.

An oscillating soft tip gently exfoliates and massages those margins and stimulates the meibomian glands, without heat and without anesthesia. It is done in the chair by the clinical team in a few minutes.
Through the day, allergens, bacteria, inflammatory proteins, biofilm and microscopic debris collect on the surface of the eye and underneath the eyelids, where drops do not reach.
A patented irrigating lid retractor delivers a high flow sterile rinse across the whole ocular surface, including the areas beneath the lids that drops cannot reach. Helps remove entrapped allergens and debris irritating the ocular surface.
One of the leading causes of dry eye is excessive tear drainage. Even when the eyes produce healthy tears, or you are using artificial tears, they can drain away too quickly to lubricate the surface.
Punctal plugs 'block the exit' to your own natural tears so they stay on the surface longer. The practice uses dissolvable collagen plugs from Oasis Medical and LacriFill, a gel formula containing hyaluronic acid. Both are punctal plugs; the doctor chooses which fits your eye.
FDA cleared LED photobiomodulation. Selected wavelengths of red and near infrared light reach the tissue around the eyes, to reduce inflammation, improve circulation and support meibomian gland function.

There is no one set treatment that works for every individual and requires a proper work up. That work up comes first, and the plan is built from it.
